The Handsomest Little Guy in the World and my Urban Garden

Here is my dog Alfie, wearing his little Colombian jersey. Even though Alfie doesn't exactly look like he's in celebration mode, he should! Colombia beat Japan 4-1. Can't wait for Saturdays' game. Who's up for a World Cup Party?

A few weeks ago I attempted to plant a hydroponic urban herb garden. Only the basil appears to be growing roots though. Any hydroponic herb tips?

A few weeks ago I attempted to plant a hydroponic urban herb garden using herb clippings. Only the basil appears to be growing roots though. So maybe calling this a garden at this point is misleading. More like my urban basil plant. Any hydroponic herb clippings growing tips?

Lastly, any of my DC area blog followers/fellow bloggers know of a good places not too far from D.C for rural-ish biking? I’m looking for a 25-30 mile ride no more than 45 minutes outside of D.C somewhere pretty and green. All ideas welcome!

  1. Here’s two:

    * The W&OD Trail. It’s 45 miles long, stretching from Alexandria all the way to Purcellville, west of Leesburg. http://www.wodfriends.org/trail.html
    * The C&O Canal Towpath, all 184.5 miles of it! http://bikewashington.org/canal/
